A Magic Cabinet launches in style
Eugenia Chandris presented her new project as part of a glamorous event
The launch event for A Magic Cabinet was held at the Chandris Hotels' Group, Athens Marriott Hotel, at the restaurant e&o Athens. amagiccabinet.com honours local artisanal values by discovering, curating and offering an eclectic mix of more than 60 handpicked manufacturers, designers and small businesses we trust.
Eugenia Chandris, the founder of A Magic Cabinet and a leading figure in the Greek hospitality industry, developed the conceptual idea of transforming an actual painted “Cabinet of Wonders” into an ever-growing, online shopping collection, which features premium Greek products. Her belief is in the purity and rarity of the basic roots of Greece, its soil, sun and sea coupled with the energy and resourcefulness of its people and this is what this venture is essentially showcasing to a global audience.
"A Magic Cabinet.com showcases premium Greek products shown against a rich editorial background. I selected the adjective “magic” to inject into the site an element of surprise and in some cases tasteful eccentricity"
Eugenia Chandris, Founder, stated: “A Magic Cabinet aims to elevate a distinctive selecting and shopping experience to a holistic approach that delves deep into the anthropological realm of home, style and culture. It offers an eclectic selection of premium and rare products preferred for their quality."
Nadia Papanikolaou, eCommerce Director, stated: “amagiccabinet.com is a dynamic website with a strong focus on ethical and sustainable retail practices. It is the optimum platform from which you can take a piece of Greece home.”
Nikos Agouros, Project Consultant, stated: "amagiccabinet.com focuses on an epicurean definition of life. It offers everything that bestows quality, depth and pleasure upon our everyday needs, with respect to nature, tradition and local economy."
Guest speaker Katherine E. Fleming, the New York University Provost who is a great storyteller and humorist presented the historical facts behind the concept of the "cabinet of wonders" and shared anecdotal memories of its inception into a website.
Business people, artists and the media attended the event. The signature cocktails were sponsored by Three Cents, the Greek brand of quality soft drinks and mixers.
